Star Citizen broke its year-to-date crowdfunding record when it raked in $28.4 million in sales last month, with its annual Intergalactic Aerospace Expo doing the heavy lifting. Sales are also expected to surpass last year’s figures, assuming that December turns out to be at least as profitable as the past month.

So far, the still in-development MMO has raised a total of $649 million from its long-running crowdfunding campaign. We’re expecting to see a more detailed breakdown of the game’s revenue when the Cloud Imperium Games publishes its quarterly financial report later this month.

Meanwhile, CIG has dropped a new Inside Star Citizen video that offers a preview of the upcoming Pyro system. The studio has also brought back the Siege of Orison event for another round of space cops and robbers. The event ends on December 7th.
